We are planning to have an informal open day in early September 2020 to help explain what we are doing and how coppicing management fit in so well with the modern demands for sustainability and biodiversity. This will involve a self guided walk – follow the signs – through an area which has not been coppiced for 70 years, into this years coppice showing new growth and finally into a coppice area from 2 years ago. You will see the transformation that light brings to the woods and then you will have a chance to discuss the woodland with us.
We hope to have signs and information explaining the process but we would much rather have a chat about things. We may even persuade you to help out but if not we hope you will find out about this traditional craft.
Should you wish to come along and have a look we would like you just to turn up and have a look but the way things are we will have to ask you to book in using the form so we can make sure everything is safe and there is space for parking etc.
Hope you get chance to come and see what we are up to.
Nigel and Heather.
